What is an ACC Car Setup?

An ACC car setup is the way that you can finetune a car’s handling in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Setups allow you to change all sorts of aerodynamic and mechanical characteristics, allowing you to have the best car possible for wherever you may be racing. It is imperative that you do not leave the setup of your car as default, as adapting your car to match the track is one of the best ways to find lap time.

What does an ACC Car Setup do?

An ACC Car Setup can completely transform how your car handles. It can make your car more agile, faster in a straight line, or just easier to drive, meaning you can feel comfortable in your machine with the best possible handling for your location of racing.

How much does an ACC Car Setup Cost?

ACC Car Setups at Coach Dave Academy come in with great value for money. A single setup for any GT3 or GT4 car costs just £5.50*, with a GTWC bundle coming in at just £19.99*, and a British GT setup bundle at only £7.99*. However, we also offer wet weather setups, which also costs £5.50, allowing you to take your racing to the next level, no matter the conditions.

When Coach Dave Academy develops setups for a new car, we collect all the lap time data. All this data is entered into a spreadsheet, and we are then able to view car performance on a macro scale. By comparing the lap times of different cars across multiple tracks, we can identify the top performers.

1st Place

Porsche 911 ii GT3-R

Of the fifteen tracks in ACC, the Porsche, using a Coach Dave Academy setup, records the fastest lap time at seven of those tracks.

In addition to having the fastest time at seven tracks, the Porsche also records the second-fastest time at four tracks and the third-fastest time at one. That means that the Porsche is fast enough for a podium at 80% of tracks.

If you are looking for the ultimate edge, it’s time to tame the beast that is the Porsche 911 II GT3 R.

2nd Place

Mercedes AMG GT3

Looking for a more stable platform than the Porsche, but one that still can compete at the front of the pack? The Mercedes AMG GT3 is the second fastest GT3 car in ACC.

Using the same data-driven process as we did with the Porsche, the AMG, running the Coach Dave Academy setup, records the fastest lap at five tracks.

In addition to the five fastest track time, the AMG holds the second-fastest lap at two tracks, and the third-fastest at three. If you drive the AMG to its limit, you are looking at a podium at 67% of tracks.

3rd Place

Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO

The Lamborghini holds the fastest lap for one track, but it consistently lays down the second and third-fastest laps around the rest.

With six second-fastest laps and an additional five third-fastest laps, the Lamborghini is an incredibly consistent performer.

You may not see a lot of race wins driving the Lamborghini on its edge, but it is still a car that is capable of delivering podiums at the same rate as the Porsche.
