It is a good day today! We are able to announce today that yet another GT4 car has been finished by the Coach Dave Academy team, therefore almost completing the entire GT4 roster in ACC.
Alpine A110 GT4
The Alpine A110 GT4 is a featherweight contender, much like the Ginetta G55, however, it has provided a unique and differing challenge for the team to overcome, compared to the other lightweight cars in GT4.Â
Learning its quirks was a priority and it allowed us to understand what it required. Very pitch sensitive and quite softly sprung, it leads to a car that likes to bottom out at every opportunity and so ride height, especially on the front is crucial to get right, along with fine-tuning the dampers. Combining this with the correct downforce levels on the rear was something the team focused on the most.
Overall, the Alpine A110 is not one that is beginner-friendly like the Aston or Mercedes. It requires a bit of patience to learn how to exploit its advantages. Exceptional tyre wear, Phenomenal fuel consumption, extremely short braking distances and good initial acceleration are all major plus points of this car. However, if you persevere with it, it will reward you with some fantastic speed in the GT4 class.
