Coach Dave Delta introduces a brand new competition called the Delta Challenge for GT7, powered by Thrustmaster, where I set a lap in GT7 for you to beat. Beat my time and you’ll find yourself in the mix to win fantastic prizes.
This first version of the challenge is specifically for Gran Turismo 7, but let’s see how it goes and maybe we’ll bring this across to other games in the future.
So What Is Delta Challenge
Well, in short it’s a hot lap competition and you have the chance to win some awesome Thrustmaster Prizes. As the name suggests, it’s a competition that is run from within Coach Dave Delta. So you need to make sure you are subscribed to enter and for this first one, you need to make sure you own a copy of Gran Turismo 7.
This first Delta Challenge starts TODAY! – Thursday 19th December 2024 and will run until Thursday 30th January 2025.
What Can You Win
Everyone loves winning prizes and this competition is no different, so let’s show you right off the bat what’s up for grabs in this new Delta challenge.
The Overall Winner
The person who sets the single fastest overall lap time at the end of this competition (closes January 30th) will win a brand new Thrustmaster T598 Direct Drive Bundle – including the wheelbase, wheel and pedal set. Simple as that, the fastest gets the goods.
Anyone Who Beats My Time
For everyone else who beats my lap time in the challenge, you’ll all be entered into a prize draw where one lucky person will win a brand new Thrustmaster T248 Direct Drive Bundle – including the wheelbase, wheel and pedal set. But don’t worry if you think you know you have no chance of beating my time, let’s just say I got distracted while doing my lap and it’s very beatable. Check out the video to see how I managed to drop the ball on my quick lap.
What’s The Combinations We Are Using
Well now you know what you are competing for, the next steps are to show you what car we will be using, what track we will be setting laps on and the settings you need to use. Hint – it’s a car I used to race back in the day.
The Ferrari 458 Italia GT3
The car we will be using is obvious, it’s the fantastic Ferrari 458 GT3! What a machine this thing is. It holds a special place in my heart and the fact we still get to race this thing in GT7 is a blessing.
Autodrome Lago Maggiore
The track to accompany the Ferrari 458 GT3 has to be Italian right? So we are heading to Autodrome Lago Maggiore. Go to ‘World Circuits’, click on ‘Time Trial’, click on ‘Full Course’. For the time of day I will be using the afternoon but choose any time of day you like.
Car Settings
Finally, for the car settings make sure you have the racing medium tyre set selected on the front and rear and leave everything else the same in the settings. This is very important.
A Lap Guide To Help You
Before we get into how to set your own laps, I thought it would be a good idea for me to create a quick, rough around the edges, lap guide for you all to see how to set a lap and beat my very pedestrian time around Autodome Lago Maggiore.
Now To Set Your Laps And Submit Times
Now it’s time for you to set your laps on GT7 using the combinations outlined in this blog and submit them into our Delta Challenge Leaderboard on Delta. Note – You need to make sure you have Delta open when setting your lap so you can submit that data.
When you are happy with your lap do the following:
- Go to the Delta homepage
- Navigate to the Delta Competition on the right
- Click ‘Enter Now’ button
- Your fastest lap will appear – hit ‘Submit’
- To see your lap navigate back to the Delta Competition
- Click ‘Leaderboard’
- Your lap time will appear in the ranked leaderboard
- You can enter as many times as you like
