NEW Valkyrie Hypercar and AMG LMGT3 Setups – Plus New Tyre Model Talk

July 22nd 2025. Remember this day. The day LMU became a fully fledged title leaving early access.

This day (and this week) is all about Le Mans Ultimate, all about the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes AMG LMGT3, and all about version 1 of the sim that’s the talk of the town, for all the right reasons.

From a Coach Dave Academy perspective, it’s all about our brand new setups for the Valkyrie and AMG – both of which are fully complete and esports-ready on the new build – with multiple setup options to help you in qualifying and race sessions, along with an in-depth look at the brand new LMGT3 tyre model, which we helped develop.

Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH Setups

We have the entire setup bundle complete and ready to go for the Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH in Le Mans Ultimate. The setups have been created by three of our Hypercar specialists – Gregor Schill, Alen Terzic, and Jacob Ostermann, and will put you in good stead for every qualifying and race situation on this new update.

Mercedes AMG LMGT3 Setups

We have the entire setup bundle complete and ready to go for the Mercedes AMG LMGT3 in Le Mans Ultimate. The setups have been created by our GT3 specialists Tariq Adam and our brand new setup builder to join the ranks, Luke Whitehead. So you know these are going to be elite. Every qualifying and race session is covered by Coach Dave.

Let’s Talk New GT3 Tyre/Physics Model

We’ve had a direct influence on this brand-new tyre model in LMU, and so we thought it’s best to give you some proper insight to the changes so you better understand what’s happening when you hit the track, like feeling down on power, or noticing slower lap times for no reason, expect there is a reason.

The Atmosphere

Atmospheric conditions such as the air density now impact downforce, drag, cooling, engine power and fuel. These values are now different at every track in the game based on their location in the world, bringing another realistic touch to the game. Previously, all of these conditions were the same value for every car at every track excluding Interlagos. All cars now react slightly differently to these changeable conditions.

Tyre Sensitivity

The sensitivity of the tyre has been adjusted in terms of heat and cooling build-up, going through some sizeable changes to achieve this; tyres are now less sensitive overall to heat spikes. So no more overheating dramatically and losing grip suddenly.

The overall balance of the GT3 cars on the newly-tweaked physics model (yes aero has been adjusted too) has been shifted rearwards as well, this is to combat the snappy slides you get on the limit when the tyre is at the peak of its slip tolerance. This should mean that you can feel when the car is about to let go and why rather than before, which was instantaneous.

Am I Suddenly Slower?

Lap times will now feel a little bit slower on the new patch initially because of all these changes in the V1.0 update, compared to the previous patch. It’s not that the setups are slower, or that you are slower on the new model. It’s because the physics engine now means the cars can carry more drag, will have less power potential based on the atmosphere, and the tyre differences mean setups are not as aggressive overall.

Existing Setups

What we are going to do is take all of our existing LMGT3 setups, refine the setups even further, and then upload them back to Delta once again. All the setups we’ve worked hard to bring you over the last several weeks are not wasted, but they are not optimal anymore, naturally. They will act as a good base for us to have a quick turnaround, however, bringing our awesome setups back up to scratch for you to continue winning in LMU.

Final Thoughts

As we said earlier, the brand-new Mercedes AMG LMGT3 is not affected by this update, because these setups have been fully completed on this new Version 1.0 build, by Taariq Adam and our brand new setup builder – Luke Whitehead – so they are ready to rock and roll on this patch right away.

Pro Esports ready just for you. The Aston Martin Valkyrie isn’t affected by the update, as the Hypercar tyre model has not been updated just yet. Jakob Ostermann, Gregor Schill and Alen Terzic have made sure you’re safe and Delta setups are optimised for the new fan favourite.

Now go enjoy that V12 scream of the Valkyrie and that V8 rumble of the AMG.
