Back in April, we launched Video Analysis for the first time in Delta, and since then we’ve added two major updates to the feature. First, we released Video Analysis for you to analyse our Coach Dave pro laps. Then in June, we introduced an update for you to study your laps. And finally, in July we added Audio to bring these laps to life.
Now, over the last 6 weeks we’ve been working relentlessly to bring the next big update for our Video Analysis feature, and some of you may have already spotted it in Delta, as it was soft-launched a week ago. It’s a major update to say the least!
Video Analysis is Now Live with Side-By-Side Comparisons
What does this mean?
It means you can now compare your laps against your peers, against a pro, and against anyone on the Delta global leaderboards. You can even use it to compare two laps together that are not even yours.
The new side-by-side feature for Video Analysis works with any two laps you want to compare and comes with a handy toggle so you can switch between the current lap you are studying and the reference lap, switching the telemetry data with it instantaneously as well.
We’ve also worked our magic to keep both side-by-side laps perfectly in sync throughout the entire lap, no matter the time differences in the actual laps themselves, and side-by-side Video Analysis also comes with full audio for both laps.
How Side-By-Side Works
To use Video Analysis with the side-by-side feature from our leaderboards, simply click a lap from the global leaderboards with a video icon next to it like normal. This will take you to the driving telemetry screen; then click the video icon on the left of Delta to bring up a side-by-side lap. If you don’t have any laps at a particular circuit, or you are using someone else’s from the leaderboards, it will load one of our Coach Dave Pro reference laps automatically.
To use Video Analysis with the side-by-side feature from your session history, simply click on one of the sessions that you have with Video Analysis, which will take you to the driving telemetry screen; then click the video icon again to bring up a side-by-side lap to compare against. This will give you your lap to compare against a pro lap. You can also click on your ranks icon to bring up other laps from the leaderboard you can load to compare with as well.
It is important to note that the video icon may be disabled for you if you do not have a valid lap linked to Video Analysis. You must always have TWO valid laps that have been recorded with Video Analysis for the video icon to work.
