The Ferrari 488 EVO is a car that has changed quite dramatically in Assetto Corsa Competizione. As is the case for all our bundle packages, customer feedback and suggestions are of paramount importance to us. It was quite clear that after our initial release some weeks ago when the car joined the sim, there have been some changes with recent patches that has altered its behaviour and setup direction that it requires.
Never one to shy away from revisiting older packages to make changes if necessary, we are pleased to announce that in the background, we have been doing precisely that with the Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO. Taking our time and methodically working through each track on a case by case basis, we found the car had indeed changed in the way it drives and meant changes to setups were required.
Whilst the changes we had to make varied circuit by circuit, there was a general consensus with the testing team that the cars aero/damper windows had changed and it was a lot more susceptible to bottoming out in certain circumstances compared to before as well.
Two of the circuits, Paul Ricard and Imola, have received brand new baselines that have been made from what we had learnt at other circuits in the testing process. In the table below you can see how each of the tracks were affected by the changes and what we had to do to rectify the new behaviour.
Key Points
- All 16 GTWC circuits have been changed to varying degrees.
- All new setups overwrite existing R01 and Q01 setups. All existing R02 and Q02 are now also out of date.
- New 3 lap run data has been included for each circuit that was changed and also overwrites the old files
- New hotlap videos for circuits where laptimes/car behaviour dramatically changed are uploaded on our YouTube channel.
We have worked very hard to ensure this update solves all of the existing issues faced with the Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO. If you require any assistance please visit our Discord here.
