Don’t fancy making your pride and joy all dirty by pushing it to the edge on your favourite track or road? Well, the AC Evo car showroom may be just the perfect tool for you. The car showroom allows you to display your vehicles against a range of different backdrops, as well as take a good look around it.
In this guide, Coach Dave Academy will walk you through how to get the most out of the showroom so that you can take some killer shots of your favourite four-wheeled friends, as there is a great variety of cars in AC Evo.
Getting To The Car Showroom Screen
When first loading up AC Evo, you’ll find yourself on the main menu. From there, select the ‘Vehicles’ tab at the top of the screen. After this, select the ‘Garage’ tab. You’ll then be transported into the garage, where you’ll be presented with the car you currently have selected.
How To Change The Garage Scene
At default, the game uses a bright white warehouse area as the backdrop for your vehicles. While it may be to some user’s taste, some may fancy a more picturesque or busy setting. Luckily, AC Evo comes with a total of 11 different backdrops to choose from.
From an urban setting, which looks to be based in a pretty Italian town centre, to a purposeful-looking race garage and a cosy home garage setting with a wooden floor, there should be one for everyone. Different cars will also best suit varying settings, so bear this in mind if you fancy carrying out a photoshoot.
To set a new background, simply click the ‘Scene Options’ tab at the bottom right of the main garage screen. From there, click the tab of the one you want in the list, and voila! It will save as default automatically, so you simply need to go back into the menu and select another if you fancy a change.
- Aside from the background, you can also change the weather and time of day shown in the background, allowing you to work with different lights.
Controlling Different Functions Of A Vehicle
To the right of the Scene Options tab, you’ll find another labelled ‘Car Controls.’ With this, you’ll be able to work the different functions of the vehicle you have selected from the menu in the top right.
There are a range of functions available to you, and each works like you’d expect in real life. You’ll need to turn the ignition to use the electrical devices, as well as to switch on the engine.
- The steering angle can also be altered, while all the lights featured on the car can be turned on and off.
- These include the headlights, indicators, and brake/reverse lights.
- The windshield wipers can also be switched on and off
You can also change the car view from the top of the sub-menu, as well as switch between ‘electrics’ and ‘animations.’ While the former controls the functions already outlined, the latter allows you to open the doors and rev the engine.
How To Look Around The Car
While looking for the perfect shot, and even if you just want to look around the vehicle, you’ll want to take control of the camera.
- Using a normal mouse, you can hold the left clicker and move the mouse around to pan the camera around the outside of the vehicle.
- By holding the right clicker and moving the mouse, you can angle the camera around a fixed point to get properly lined up.
- The mouse wheel can be used to zoom in and out.
You can also save all the scenes you create to prevent having to work your way through the options once more. To do this, click the ‘Save’ tab on the furthest right side of the lower menu.
Wrapping Up
The AC Evo car showroom will allow you to intimately get to know your vehicle without having to head out on the road or track, as well as snap a few shots with the aid of some fixed backgrounds.
It’s also a great time killer or relaxation tool should you have just finished off a stressful race, making it a handy tool. Should you want to find out any more info about the ongoing AC Evo Early Access program, Coach Dave Academy has developed an in-depth early access guide covering it.
