Car Customisation in Assetto Corsa EVO

Take your car choices to the next level with customisation in AC Evo. Your cars now become unique to you.

Assetto Corsa EVO offers a dynamic customisation system, meaning what you can change depends on the car. Some vehicles allow in-depth customisation of their exterior, interior, wheels and even small details like trim and brake callipers, while others may only allow modifications to wheels and parts. This variety ensures that each model remains unique while giving players creative freedom.

Exterior customisation

Players can change the body colour using real manufacturer paint codes or custom palettes and install additional modifications, such as wheel rims, brake callipers and aerodynamic packages.

One of the customisation features is wheel rim selection, though there aren’t too many options yet. The system is simple, but some cars, like the Ferrari, have more detailed customisation choices. For example, you can change the trim to carbon or matte, and even modify the brake caliper colour.

Beyond aesthetics, Assetto Corsa EVO also allows players to modify the setup, depending on the car. Some vehicles offer detailed tuning options for parts like aero components, suspension setups and exhaust systems, while others may be more limited. For example, you can modify the aero package of a race-spec car and adjust the front splitter, rear wing or diffuser. Meanwhile, a road-legal sedan may have fewer options, limited to wheel and brake upgrades.

Interior customisation

Some cars in Assetto Corsa EVO offer interior customisation, allowing players to modify ambient lighting, dashboard details and seat materials. This level of personalisation enhances immersion, making it feel as if players are truly sitting inside their customised vehicle.

For instance, if you’re driving a high-end sports car, you can adjust the ambient lighting to match the exterior theme. Additionally, seat and dashboard materials can be tailored to create a more luxurious or sporty feel. However, not all cars provide this degree of customisation – some may only offer preset configurations.

Customisation Examples

The initial release includes only 20 cars, so let’s look at the customisation options available for a few, to visually show you what we have explained above.

Ferrari 296 GTB

The 296 GTB offers extensive customisation, particularly for the interior. You can modify the Alcantara colour, contrast the dashboard colour, and even the carpet. Ferrari’s customisation system also allows you to match stitching and trim details to the exterior.

Alpine A110 S

A highlight of the Alpine A110 is its two-tone livery option with a carbon fibre roof. Inside, you can customise the colours of the steering wheel centre indicator and seatbelts.

Audi RS 3 Sportback

The RS3 offers a range of customisation options, including stitching colour, wheel rims and brake calliper colours. Selecting the RS Styling Package unlocks even more possibilities, such as swapping the dashboard trim for an accent strip.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

One particularly cool feature is the ability to change the colour of the brake calliper branding itself – not just the calliper colour, but the actual Alfa Romeo lettering. The exterior colour selection includes factory and custom colours. Wheel customisation follows a similar system. While the Giulia’s OEM wheels only come in black, custom colours let you adjust brightness and saturation.

Hyundai Ioniq i30 N Hatchback

This car is a real head-turner. One of its standout features is the ability to switch between an automatic gearbox and paddle shifters, with real-time visual feedback. When you select the option, the gear selector physically changes inside the car – a small but impressive detail.

BMW M4

The M4 offers some great customisation features. Adjusting the ambient lighting inside the car creates a striking effect at night. The trim options add another layer of personalisation, for example, you can keep or remove the red trim along the dashboard.

Porsche 911 GT3

One of the unique customisation features of the 911 GT3 is the option to add LED strips beneath the windscreen banner. Other exterior modifications include an endurance-style front bumper and adjustable headlight colours. Inside, you can enable a safety device that appears during races, adding an extra layer of realism.

Future updates

With each update, Assetto Corsa EVO refines its customisation system. Online functionality will eventually support fully customised vehicles. If early access development progresses as planned, players can take their personalised cars online, meet friends and showcase their unique builds in free-roam and competitive racing modes.
