Moza also has an extensive product eco-system that ventures out of direct drive bases and covers everything from Pedals, Wheels, Shifters, Handbrakes and even Dashboards to use with Moza wheel bases.
In this guide, however, we will be focusing on three of their best sellers, the R5, R9 and R12 direct drive bases – which many users are finding fit perfectly for their sim racing on iRacing. What some users do struggle with, though, is finding the right settings to really extract the most from them.

Setting up your Moza Direct Drive Wheelbase in iRacing
This is a three-step process:
Step 1: Make sure your Moza wheelbase and any peripherals that come with it, are all connected to your PC or USB on the wheelbase itself, such as your pedals, handbrakes or shifters.
Step 2: Make sure you have the correct software and drivers installed for your Moza base to work properly. This is via Pit House, Moza’s in-house software. This will allow you to adjust any FFB settings for your wheel and check that you are on the latest firmware. Download MOZA Pit House here.
Step 3: Before getting stuck into the MOZA settings, you need to hit the configure button for iRacing. In the Game Launcher of MOZA Pit House, simply find iRacing and hit the configure button. If the game is not automatically detected, just click “launch from the custom path” and direct Moza Pit House to your iRacing executable file. Then, you can hit the configure button, and you are good to go.
Moza Pit House Software (Basic Settings)
The basic settings for your Moza wheelbase will be very subjective because everyone prefers different speeds of wheel rotation, FFB strength and so on. We will leave these up to you based on your own preferences, according to your wheel bases. What we will do, however, is go in-depth for your advanced settings because this is where the magic happens with transforming how and what you feel when on iRacing.
We will give you two tips, and those are:
- Steering Angle: 900° as standard, but you can adjust this per car – e.g. 540° for formula cars to give yourself faster and sharper steering inputs. You may be a driver who prefers 540° as standard, and in this case, go down to 360°
- Handoff Protection: We recommend this be turned on to stop you from breaking your wrists! But you do have the option of turning it OFF if it interferes during high-speed countersteer
Moza Pit House Software (Advanced Settings for All)
Set these in your Moza software through the advanced settings before launching iRacing, recommended for all three models:

iRacing In-Game Settings (Per Wheel Base)
Here’s where things get tailored per model – mainly based on wheel torque and how strong you want the force feedback to feel.
Moza R5 (5.5Nm) iRacing Settings

The R5 has less headroom, so lower your Max Force for more punch, but be careful of clipping. Use 20 Nm for most road cars; go up to 25 for very bumpy tracks.

The R9 has the best bang-for-buck settings. The R9 has enough power for strong FFB but still benefits from slight smoothing or damping if it feels too lively.

The R12 gives you more fidelity and resistance over the R5 or R9 bases. You can run higher Max Force to reduce clipping, especially in high-downforce cars like the LMPs or Formula 3.
Additional Tips
- Always use “Use Linear Mode” ON for best accuracy with Moza DD wheels
- Dial in per-car Max Force to avoid clipping and maintain feel
- If you see clipping (force meter maxed out), either lower the in-game Max Force or reduce the Pit House Game Intensity
- Pair with SimHub dashboards for even more immersion with Lovely Dash or custom Moza dashes

iRacing Moza Settings FAQs:
A good baseline is to set your wheelbase strength to 100% in Moza Pit House, match your steering angle to 900° (or car-specific), and then fine-tune force feedback in iRacing. Use linear mode in-game, set Wheel Force to your base’s peak torque (R5 = ~5.5 Nm, R9 = 9 Nm, etc.), and adjust Max Force until you aren’t clipping. From there, add damping or inertia in the Pit House for stability and weight.
Start by matching the steering angle in Pit House to your in-game setting, usually 900°. Set FFB Intensity to 100%, Road Sensitivity around 9 or 10, and tune Friction/Damper to ~20–30% for weight. Then, in iRacing, enable linear mode, reduce force when parked, and balance Max Force until your wheel feels strong without losing detail.
If the wheel feels too heavy, your Max Force in iRacing is probably set too low, causing constant clipping. If it feels too light, your Max Force may be set too high, dulling the feedback. You can also tweak Friction, Damper, and Inertia in Pit House to change the weight and responsiveness to your liking. Settings like these are very subjective, so you will need to play around with it to get the best weighted feel of the wheel for you.
Not directly. TrueForce is Logitech’s proprietary system. Moza instead focuses on strong, detailed force feedback through its direct drive base programme, Pit House, which iRacing fully supports. You’ll get detailed road feel, curb effects, and suspension cues through this, which works just like TrueForce. You could also try using iRacing’s own iRFFB with your Moza wheel.
