The Rarest Cars In Gran Turismo 7

GT7 includes a wide variety of cars, and just like with Pokémons, some people want to have them all. Some of them are challenging to obtain, however.

Gran Turismo 7 currently features more than 500 unique cars. While this is not the highest number in the series, completing your collection is a difficult achievement requiring much driving and patience. Several obstacles will come before you can reach the driver’s seat of the most prestigious automobiles. Let’s explore which ones are the rarest, and how to obtain them.

Used Car Dealership

Your Gran Turismo journey will begin with the Used Cars Dealership (UCD). When you start the game with a new profile, you will be forced to buy one of 3 small Japanese hatchbacks, and the selection of used cars will then be adjusted to include cars eligible for whatever event you need to complete to progress in the single campaign.

Once you’ve completed Menu Book #39, the UCD listings will be entirely decided server-side, with about 20% renewed daily. This means everyone in the world gets the same selection of used cars to buy.

It is important to note that all cars from 2000 and before can only be bought used, so if you’re looking for a specific older car, it is important to take the opportunity to buy it while it’s there, because you don’t know when it will come back.

Sport Mode events and game updates are also a good time to grab older cars, as newly added cars or anything that’s specifically used for daily races and time trials will be on sale for the week.

Hagerty’s Legendary Car Dealership

Hagerty’s Legendary Cars Dealership (LCD) works similarly to the regular UCD but only sells a set of prestigious cars that are exclusive to the LCD. Most of them are highly priced according to their current real-life market value, with several reaching the price cap of 20 million credits.

The number of cars on offer at a single point in time is more limited, and cars generally only remain available for a week, so if you miss one, you might not be able to get it again before a few months. So if your eyes are set on one of the legends, make sure to keep enough money on your profile and check back at least once a week.

The following list contains all the legendary cars, their last price and last appearance in the LCD. It is regularly updated and can be a good tool for planning your future spending sprees.

Brand Central

Brand Central is where you will find all the cars from 2001 and onwards. Cars here are sold brand new, with a choice of colour or livery. Most are permanently available, so you can take your time gathering them. The exception comes from 10 cars that are only available to buy if you get an invitation, which you can only obtain through roulette tickets.

Completing career events like menu books will give you a bunch of those tickets, so by the time you have completed them, you will probably get a couple of invitations, but it is not guaranteed. Past that point, you will have to rely on the daily reward obtained for driving a full marathon distance (42.195km or 26.216 miles) to get more tickets.

Invitational Cars

Invitations are only valid for a month, so even though it gives you some time to grind credits, you should not delay your purchases any longer than necessary when you get that opportunity. Here is the list of invite-only cars:

Aston Martin One-77 ’11
Aston Martin Vulcan ’16
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 ’13
Enzo Ferrari ’02
Ferrari FXX K ’14
Ferrari LaFerrari ’13
GT by Citroën Road Car
Lamborghini Veneno ’14
Pagani Huayra ’13
Porsche Carrera GT ’04

Invitations work per manufacturer, so you can grab both Aston Martins and all 3 Ferraris at once.

Campaign Rewards

Although roulette tickets can get you cars, all the possible options you can get from them are available in Brand Central. Doing the menu books, missions, and golding every licence test will however give you a few cars that would be otherwise difficult to obtain.

Menu books will also award you a useful car for your career progression, so relying on them can allow you to save credits to spend on things that are not consistently for sale.

Overall, completing all these things as early as possible is a good strategy, not only for filling out your garage so you can focus on buying rare cars but also in general for your game experience.

To help you out, check out the list of reward cars (each menu book only gives out one of the 3 listed)

To Summarise

Gran Turismo 7 is probably the most challenging racing game out there when it comes to collecting all the featured cars, due to the sheer value of some, and the luck involved in getting the opportunity to obtain others. If your playtime is limited, it is best to focus your attention on a few favourites and keep your credits in your virtual wallet for when they appear.

Do not worry about practicality either: none of the rare cars are required to progress through the game, and you will be able to loan them in the case they’re featured in Sport Mode. Follow your desires and acquire the cars you want to drive the most in a non-competitive context.
