Coach Dave Academy V1.9 Release Plan

With V1.9 being launched by Kunos for Assetto Corsa Competizione on the 19th April, Coach Dave provide their release plan.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has announced the release of the latest V1.9 update, set to bring exciting new features, cars, and physics improvements. At Coach Dave Academy, we are happy to share our release plan with you and outline what we have in store with this update.

The Car Release List

The V1.9 update introduces 3 brand new cars to Assetto Corsa Competizione. These cars include the Ferrari 296 GT3, Porsche 992 GT3R and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2.

The release list we will follow for CDA4 updates will be:

Setup Naming Convention

With V1.9, Coach Dave Academy will be adopting the same naming convention for our setup files as V1.8. The naming convention will include the V1.9 version number (CDA4), followed by the car name, track abbreviation, and setup type. The setup types will include fast, safe, and qualifying setups for each car and track combination.

If you are unsure on the naming convention currently:

  • CDA4 – V1.9 version number
  • M4 GT3 – Example car name
  • BAR – Example track abbreviation
  • RS – Safe setup
  • RF – Fast setup
  • Q – Qualifying setup

Setup name examples include:

  • Fast: CDA4 M4 GT3 BAR RF04
  • Safe: CDA4 M4 GT3 BAR RS04
  • Qualifying: CDA4 M4 GT3 BAR Q04

What We Are Offering Per Car And Track

Our setup packages will still include three setups per track for each CDA car/track combination, with fast, safe, and qualifying setups provided. In addition, motec data for all setups will be also included, providing you with even more data from our team.

We will also be producing Popometer data packages for all cars on V1.9 as we work through them, featuring three separate reference laps from the fast, safe, and qualifying setup runs.

When Do We Start?

We plan to host a testing session on Wednesday, 19th April when the DLC releases, where all our drivers and engineers can troubleshoot and test the update to understand what has changed with V1.9. We will then evaluate the changes that have been made to the sim.

Starting from Thursday, 20th April, we will host normal testing sessions for the car we are actively working on to start with, with the first setups being released on Thursday, 27th April, for the initial release.

What Else Is Coming?

On Wednesday, 19th April, we will be releasing an FAQ on our website and the Coach Dave Discord server, covering all the major changes of V1.9, including any core physics changes to the sim, and any recommended changes we advise people to do to their existing CDA3 V1.8 setups to tide them over until the first CDA4 V1.9 setups are released.

We are excited to share our release plan for the latest V1.9 Assetto Corsa Competizione update with you, and we hope to see you on the track soon!
