Today we are excited to announce the release of iRacing setups at the Coach Dave Academy. After months of testing which platform to focus on next (after ACC), we decided to approach the most intimidating of them all: iRacing.
In order to pull this off, we wanted to make sure that we had the expertise involved to produce iRacing setups of the highest possible standard. Read on below to find out more about what you get when purchasing an iRacing setup from Coach Dave Academy.
Why iRacing
iRacing is still the king of simulators in the world in terms of both content available and player base. The scope is almost endless with GT racing, ovals, dirt track, and open-wheel cars all there for players to experience.
Just like Assetto Corsa Competizione, we wanted to bring the same level of professionalism and expertise to iRacing setups.
We set about this project by hiring expert drivers and engineers who have extensive experience in iRacing. We also mixed in our most talented ACC drivers who we felt were up to the task of developing iRacing setups for fans of the simulator.
As usual, the drivers and engineers involved in this project are paid, professionals. We avoid using volunteers because we want to find the best possible candidates for the job and value them accordingly, which in turn benefits our customers.
Starting with GT3 Cars
On release we want drivers of all skill levels to enjoy the GT3 machinery that is available to drive in iRacing, whether that is on shorter sprints or much longer endurance events. Our bundle packages therefore cement fundamentals in terms of predictability and driveability into setups that cater to a much wider audience than we feel is currently on offer in the market.
Whether you are in split 1 or split 10, we want to provide setups that improve on baseline setups available in the sim. Our focus, as always, is on driveability as opposed to outright lap time. We want drivers of varying styles to be able to achieve lap times that are competitive and repeatable.
With our initial releases, we decided this was easiest to achieve by sticking to what we know best: GT3 machinery.

What’s Included in Each Car Bundle

iRacing Bundle Package
Endurance setup – 120L Fuel – This baseline setup is targeted for longer endurance races that consist of hour-long stints or more. Car balance is on the safer side to encourage consistent stints with minimal need for setup changes outside of driving style differences.
Sprint setup – 60L Fuel – This baseline setup is targeted for shorter sprint races of 25-45 minutes in iRacing where half tanks of fuel are used most regularly. Balance has been corrected for the lower fuel load and overall is slightly more aggressive than the Endurance setup.
Qualifying setup – 2 Hot laps Worth Of Fuel – This baseline setup has been optimized for qualifying conditions. Supplied with 2 hot laps worth of fuel for each circuit, they are the most aggressive setups, optimized for lap time.
Motec Data From The Endurance Setup – These motec files included in the bundle offer 3 consistent race laps using the endurance setup with 120L of fuel, in the track conditions specified on the website for you to compare yourself with.
In-Game Replay Of YouTube Hotlap – The replay files included in your bundle packages are of each individual YouTube hot lap for the circuits provided on release. You are free to load them up into iRacing and observe, compare and analyze to your heart’s content utilizing all the in-game replay tools.
Ghost Laps From In Session – The ghost laps (olap and blap) provided in your bundles are from active test sessions at each circuit when we were developing the setups. Load these in iRacing to provide a ghost of a physical lap we did when you are practicing on a particular circuit.
