Coach Dave Delta is an application that goes way beyond setups, it’s now your Race Engineer and your Telemetry Tool as well as giving you automatic setup installation. This guide shows you how to install it to make use of all of its features.
Step 1: Purchase Delta
Ok, this one might be obvious but we have to start at the top. To download and install Delta, you need to be a Coach Dave Delta subscriber. To become a subscriber, please follow the link below:
Step 2: Download The App
Now you are subscribed, your first job is to go to your main account area on the website, which can be achieved by clicking on this URL. Once there, you will be greeted with 3 columns on the homepage at the top. Please download the Delta app using the “download” button in the first column on the left.
Step 3: Install The App
Once downloaded you will see a zipped folder, you need to unzip that. In it, you will see a .exe file appear. Run the .exe file on your PC, installing it to the destination of your choice.
Please note that you should ‘white-list’ Delta from your Virus Scanner to avoid any issues with setups being added to your game folders.
Step 4: Connecting Your Accounts
If you are a brand new user to Delta you must click ‘Get Started’ where you will be greeted with a screen to connect your Discord, Coach Dave Academy and SimGrid accounts all at once.
Once complete the first step is (re)connecting Discord and Delta together. This will allow you to log into Delta and access all the new features it has to offer.
Step 5: Set Up Install Directories For All Your Games
Once Delta has been installed and you are accessing it for the first time, you’ll need to complete several setups install directories linking the setup Delta folders and your setup documentation folders together to allow setups to be recognised in each game, where you store these on your PC is your own preference, but ideally its somewhere such as Documents>(choose game ie ACC, iRacing, LMU etc)>setups
In the settings of Delta, you will see if you have connected them successfully and you will also have the option to change the install directory at a later date. How to properly access setups is also covered in an entirely different help documentation guide.
Step 6: Go Racing
Once that’s done the only thing left for you to do is go racing. Select the sim of your choice – we now have 5 compatible with the app including AC, ACC, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and GT7 – click one of those image icons or the ‘play this game’ widget and Delta will wait for you to join a session before working it’s magic for you.
From there you can analyse your own laps, compare against a pro, share your data with your friends, check all of your previous sessions complete and much more.
You’ll also notice you have more than just a few racing games to play with the app. You can read the latest news from Coach Dave Academy, you can ‘Up Your Game’ with Coaching, Analysis, or the free – read in your own time – Never Lift Course.
If you have signed up for any races on SimGrid you will also be able to see the latest upcoming races you are competing in and find those events with ease.
