How To Start A Session In Delta

It may sound simple, but here is a help guide on how to start a session in Delta for whatever sim you play on that is compatible with the app.

Step 1: Load Delta

Load Delta up on the compatible device you have the app on. Be that your Windows PC, laptop or even your Mac – yes Delta is even compatible with MacOS if you didn’t already know.

*Quick tip – go into your settings tab and you will find under your ‘General Settings’ another tab that says – ‘Open Delta on Windows startup’ – we recommend you enable this to eliminate the step 1 process every time you want to use Delta, as it will now automatically start whenever you turn your PC or laptop on.

Step 2: Select Your Sim

On the homepage of the Delta app, you can see all of the compatible games. You can either click on the image of that game itself or click the ‘Play this game’ tab underneath the image, which will load Delta into a new session for you.

We will use iRacing as the example for this help guide. You’ll notice the screen hold in a ‘loading’ phase with a pop up letting you know Delta is ready and waiting for you to jump into the session.

Step 3: Load Up Your game

You can now go ahead and minimise Delta whilst you load up your designated session.

So load up iRacing, pick the ‘session’ you wish to join – this could be an offline test drive session, an official practice server, an official race or anything else that requires you to pick a car, track and hit the race track. This applies to all games – basically Delta is waiting for you to get out on track.

Step 4: Hit The Track and Start Logging Data

Now you have joined your session in your chosen game, pull Delta back up and you will see a new screen with Delta loaded into that session. You’ll know Delta is working because you’ll have 4 green icons at the top of the app showing you it has;

  • Connected
  • Detected
  • Listening
  • Installed Setups

Then, as Delta says ‘Exit the pit lane and hit the track to start recording your lap times’.

And that’s how you start a session.
