Comparing laps in Coach Dave Delta is one of its most powerful tools. It allows you to dive into the granular details of your laps against someone else’s, be that a friend’s lap, a pro lap, or one of your other laps.
In this guide, we show you how to navigate and compare laps on Delta.
Step 1: Loading A Lap To Compare
You can compare laps of your own, from a friend or from one of the pro laps already installed on Delta, directly in a live session or from an old session in your history.
To do this you need to be in either the driving or the data screens. You simply click on the load reference widget that is located on the left of the app under the session info.
You will then be greeted with the screen above, where you can choose a lap to compare against. This will load directly alongside your lap data from your session.
Step 2: How You Compare Those Laps
This is where all of the juicy telemetry features come into play to compare laps. This is where you go into granular details of each lap in your stint and you can meticulously study your rights and wrongs thanks to the beautiful UI and graphs used in the app and can compare them against another lap.
Your laps are always highlighted in multiple colours, ie green (on throttle), red (on the brakes), whilst the lap. you are comparing against will always be a yellow dotted line.
You can analyse all of the following that are presented with beautiful user interfaces and graphs ;
- Delta
- Speed
- Throttle
- Brake
- Steering
- Gearing
- RPM
- Fuel Used
Along with checking the understeer/oversteer widgets, tyre pressure, temperature widgets and sector time breakdowns, you have the interactive track map that shows your positioning on the circuit.
What’s most useful is the small little widget right in the centre of the map interface, this lets you smoothly transition between your fastest lap and the reference lap you want to compare against. This is crucially where you can find the differences for improvement.
