How To Navigate A Live Session

Navigating a live session in Coach Dave Delta allows you to track your performance in real-time, providing insights that can help refine your driving and strategy during the session. Here’s how to make the most of this feature:

Once you have started a session, it’s time to navigate that live session in Delta to see what’s going on. This help guide takes you through that process.

If you’ve read our ‘How to start a session guide’ you’re at a point where you are ready to leave the pits and start logging your laps, so hit the track, record some data and we will show you what it all means.

Real-Time Widgets and Metrics

Once live telemetry is active, you’ll see several widgets displaying data streams. Key features include:

Lap Data:

• Live Delta: Tracks your current lap’s time relative to your personal best or reference lap.

• Sector Splits: Displays your sector times as you progress through the lap.

Driving Inputs:

• Throttle and Brake Application: Visual graphs show how you are applying throttle and brakes in real-time.

• Steering Angle: Monitors your steering inputs and identifies inconsistencies.

• Gearing: Showing you what gears you are using for what corners

Car Dynamics:

• Tyre Temperatures and Pressures: Provides up-to-the-moment feedback on tyre conditions, helping you adjust for optimal grip.

• Oversteer/Understeer: The widget shows handling balance on the fly, so you can adapt your driving style or plan setup changes.

• Fuel Estimation: Tracks your fuel consumption per lap, enabling you to calculate real-time fuel usage for your race strategy.

Adjusting Things In Real Time

Because all of the above data is available to you in real-time, it means you can also adjust facets of your driving, or with the setup in real-time, to improve aspects such as tyre temperatures, fix car behaviour with under/oversteer, or compare how your racing line differs, which will improve your lap time instantly.
